Sandy Fredrick
Wood
email

Sandy Fredrick is a full-time studio artist living in Crestwood, Kentucky. Over the past 10 years, Sandy has studied the art of turning wood on a lathe with world renowned artists Todd Hoyer, Michael Jordan, and John Jordan.

“Wood provides many opportunities for creative expression”, says Frederick. Transforming a log into an elaborate sculpture or a simple bowl can bring challenges as well as fascinating discoveries. Using only wood recovered from storms or city dumps, the possibilities are endless. Continually honing her skills, Frederick uses a variety of techniques to bring out the beauty and mystery of each type of wood.

Sandy has participated in both international and regional juried exhibitions. One of her favorite pieces “Field of Dreams” appeared on the cover of The American Woodturner, a journal that represents woodturning internationally.

“Creating gallery quality work that inspires the viewer to consider its origin and intent is always a joy.”
