Growing up in Louisville, Kentucky, gives my work urban grit. Attending Berea College and spending time in Paint Lick, Kentucky, adds a bit of pastoral charm. My primary subject matter is doors and objects in various states of decay — this includes people. My photographs decorate wall in many parts of the United States. One of my recent photographic accomplishments is being judged First Place in photography at the Working Together exhibition. This exhibition is a joint collaboration of the Arts Council of Southwestern Indiana and the Evansville, Indiana, Museum of Art. Another of my photographs received the Second Place Medal in photography at the 2008 National Veterans Art Festival in Riverside, California. There were 1,567 entries. For the past couple years my work has been shot and printed digitally, I am in the process of building a wet darkroom and plan to start using film for my black and white offerings. There is something magic about watching images appear on blank sheets of photographic paper. |
