I am an eco-friendly Kentucky artist and the owner/designer of ReImagined by Luna. ReImagined by Luna offers handcrafted, one-of-a-kind journals, sketchbooks and other unique creations from upcycled materials. I grew up on a wooded farm in Eastern Kentucky, spending half of my time playing among the trees and the other half devouring books and filling up journals. I began bookbinding over 5 years ago and deeply appreciate the meditative quality it offers. Initially, I started crafting books because I found journaling to be transformative in my own life. I enjoy the challenge of re-imagining my materials by incorporating discarded and recycled textiles. I am mostly self-taught, experimenting with different techniques and combinations. My inspiration comes from nature, ancient spiritual traditions, and anything whimsical, which I intertwine with ideas of function. I am a member of the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen and work closely with People for Urban Progress, an urban design center based in Indianapolis. Because I create with repurposed materials, each piece is unique and cannot be recreated. |
