A member of the Kentucky Guild since 1971, Virginia (Gin) Petty first juried as a woodcarver, then later in the fields of basketry, hand papermaking and bookbinding. "Being a member of the Guild has been one of the most satisfying experiences of my life. Interaction with other Guild members has allowed me to develop both as an artisan and as a person, and I cherish the friendships that have developed through the years."

While no longer a woodcarver, Petty has continued working with basketry, paper and bookbinding, often combining the fields in various pieces.
