Wood

I have always been artistically inclined. After retirement, I looked for a hobby that would enable me to use wood to create objects that would be distinctive and useful. I decided to make unique canes and walking sticks. I use Victorian era antique doorknobs or horse hame knobs to create the handles on my canes and hand sew leather grips below the handle. My most unique walking sticks have horse hame knobs at the top which makes them both decorative and functional. I also make walking sticks from old hand split tobacco sticks. Each has a hand sewn leather grip. From the wood finish, to the handle, to the hand sewn leather grip, my attention to detail and fine craftsmanship is evident. |
